“…what have I stepped in?”

I’m 45 minutes early for my interview, when my laptop died.  As I walk into the place and look for a plug in, I’m not greeted with the initial warmth of one of the hiring managers when I first applied, nor the helpfulness of the information booth lady, until I mention I’m here for an interview, that is.  Why is it that people that look local around here get this stink eye like they are something dirty or something?  Is it just Lahaina?  I don’t recall this being the case in Wailuku nor Kahului…what have I stepped in?

I’ve 35 minutes until my interview and I feel like taking this mammoth Buddha I heard about at the Jodo Mission here in Lahaina and throwing it at these folks – you need some reflection brothers and sisters – bad!
